The first mosque I visited was Madina Mosque in Levenshulme. I have had an association with Khizra Mosque for about 12 years, but it was not the first mosque I visited. I admire the work they do both within their own community and also in the wider community helping others. 'I was really honoured when asked to speak here at Khizra Mosque’s open day. Her speech had some important messages, and is reproduced below with her permission. The Forum's Co-Chair Heather Fletcher was invited to speak at Khizra Mosque in Cheetham Hill, Manchester. In 2018 over 200 mosques took part, with visitors to mosques including the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition. Visit My Mosque Day is a national initiative that has been running for four years now.
